Funding Plan
Operating Fund
Since the St. George Church Preservation Society (SGCPS) is a volunteer organization, all ongoing expenses (postage, printing, networking, web site, accounting, etc.) are paid from the proceeds of fund-raising events and revenue from the items in the St. George Store. In addition, adequate funds have been reserved for legal retainers.
Church Restoration Fund
Direct donations and pledge payments are documented and held in a reserve fund to be used for the restoration and operation of St. George Church once it is reopened for worship.
In 2016, two campaigns raised approximately $150,000 in pledges for the church restoration.
A generous donor from the class of 1969 has already paid over $25,000 on her pledge in memory of her parents.
Other donors have already started making monthly payments on their pledges to prepare for the restoration work.
At the conclusion of our mission and with input from our major donors, their remaining funds will be donated to their chosen charities.
All other funds that remain in the Church Restoration fund will be donated to the following charities: Disabled American Veterans, Red Cross, and the Humane Society.
